Project Overview

Modern Northwest Architecture Meets Immersive Light and Sound

ToneProper is proud to present our latest integration project at Willamette Christian Church, part of an expanding multi-site ministry family that also includes Beaverton Christian Church and Hope City Church. This wasn't just a simple audio install. It was a full scale Audio Visual design and engineering challenge set within one of the most modern and architecturally distinct facilities in our portfolio.

The venue is a 400 seat worship space added to their wonderful new Northwest facility. However, the room itself presented an inherent conflict: a large, open gym/warehouse style buildout with hard surfaces prone to echoes and excessive reverb. The goal was to create an immersive experience where Willamette Christian Church had complete control over sound and light without compromising the upscale architectural aesthetic of the building as a whole.

The Challenge

Treating a warehouse style space was the primary obstacle. Standard acoustic panels would have clashed with the high-end interior design. ToneProper had to find a creative solution that treated the room for full audio control while maintaining the visual integrity of the venue. Furthermore, we needed to ensure the church family could easily manage their own sound from day one.

The Solution

Immersive Engineering: We moved beyond a standard PA installation to create an environment that supported worship, teaching, and streaming with equal fidelity.
Custom Room Acoustics: Rather than off the shelf treatments, we designed custom acoustic solutions tailored specifically to tame the "empty gym" acoustics.
Complete FOH Control: We installed a Midas Pro 2 Console at the Front of House, giving Willamette’s sound engineers and techs professional grade control over their mix.

Installation & Tuning

ToneProper executed a meticulous rock solid installation built to last:

PA System: We installed QSC Self-Powered Speakers, eliminating the need for separate amplifiers and reducing system complexity while maximizing reliability.
Wiring & Cabling Infrastructure: Every cable run was planned and executed to a professional standard, ensuring signal integrity across the entire venue for future growth.

The Result

Willamette Christian Church is one location in an expanding church family that currently includes Beaverton Christian Church and Hope City Church. We were able to partner with them as they added this new 400 seat space in their beautiful Northwest inspired facility.

An empty gym/warehouse style room has its challenges but Tone Proper was able to give Willamette Christian Church complete control over the sound in the room by creating custom room acoustics, wiring and cabling, lighting, and an audio/FOH system that allowed for an immersive AVL experience.
