The Challenge

Hotel Murano is a premier Tacoma convention center known for its stunning architecture and impressive, all glass lobby. They needed a scalable, yet invisible audio solution that would provide for great sounding background music, public address, and conference amplification across many rooms.

The goal was to create a fully controllable audio environment where specific areas could be activated/deactivated or joined/split on demand without disrupting concurrent running events, as well as not distract from the elegant interior aesthetic.

Design & Planning

At ToneProper, we approached this project with meticulous planning and control system expertise. We moved beyond standard sound reinforcement to design a sophisticated routing logic that allowed operators to combine or separate rooms in real-time via the Allen & Heath AHM Matrix custom touch screen interface that employs high fidelity audio switching and routing logic. The solution provides an intuitive, on-demand experience for venue staff to manage zone isolation, and signal distribution without requiring technical expertise.

We utilized 40x BOSE Design Max Series DMA 8 commercial ceiling-mounted speakers that were discreetly placed within the venue's existing infrastructure covering 16 separate zones. Our minimalist style of installation preserved the clean lines of their modern architecture.

The Result

The result is a Rock Solid & Flexible audio environment tailored for expo and conference use. Whether the hotel is hosting a board meeting, playing background music, or rocking a product intro for an expo, this system delivers clear, consistent sound across every zone with zero compromise on the venue's visual appeal.
